Kettle Pizza Oven for Charcoal Grills (our review)
I wrote this KettlePizza review because I have come a long way from my first pizza recipe (which was the first grilling adventure on the site) to using some great accessories to make the ultimate Grilled pizza using my Weber Kettle Grill. Now that I have tried various products, I must say that the Kettle Pizza Oven for charcoal grills has really made making pizza on the grill so much easier and takes making pizza on the grill to a whole other level.
Not only that, it’s really easy to clean, set up and use whenever you BBQ. It’s not like a major piece of equipment. Rather it’s easy to use for even “amateur” pit masters like the guys over at The Food Crowd.
But before I give you my thoughts on the KettlePizza Oven, like I always do I wanted to give you some background of the product. The KettlePizza founder, Al Contarino is an inventor who had a passion for grilling. His main frustration was that whenever grill lids were opened or removed, all the stored heat would be lost stalling the cooking process.
In 2005, he started developing a new type of gas grill that maintained the heat when the lid was opened. Countless hours and a substantial amount of money went into the patented design with the hopes of licensing to a major grill manufacturer.
Five years later, Al was completely frustrated with the challenges of licensing his ideas and he decided to focus his efforts on developing a product that he could design, manufacture and market completely on his own. This new product was Kettle Pizza.
Review and Rating of the Kettle Pizza Oven
There are a lot of similar products on the market that claim to help you make the best grilled pizza, but none of them can really compare to the Kettle Pizza Oven. I really loved not only the results of the pizza but also how easy it was to set up on my Weber Kettle Grill, it literally took me about less than a minute to set up and provided me with some amazing results.
Another great feature to the pizza oven was the included charcoal bin that you could use at the back of the oven instead of cooking the pizza from the bottom up. The charcoal bin towards the back of the oven really made a difference because so that you really got that “wood burning cooking,” that makes artisan pizza so amazing.
One feature that I would like to see is the ability of either the pizza stone or the metal try will easily slide in and out so that you don’t have to worry about using that big pizza flipper and possibility running your amazing pizza creation. If you need some more info on pizza.
Besides the minor feature that I would like to see the Kettle Pizza Oven is a perfect and a great product and accessory to add to your charcoal grill, especially for vegans. It is so versatile and easy to store and the only way to make some authentic pizza on your grill.
If you are sitting on the fence about purchasing one, I am sure that if you do you will not be disappointed.
